Thread: My Eye

  1. My Eye

I've had some nagging pain in my right eye for about 3 days now. It technically started before that, but as soon as I took out my contacts it went away. After a few days in these awful glasses, I tried my contacts again. That's when the nagging pain began. I took the contact out two days ago and the pain has only gotten worse. It's been itching/burning/watering and sealed shut when I wake up. I skipped out of work early today to see the eye doctor at the WalMart Vision Center since I know they are open late and cheap. I was hoping for Pink Eye or something easy/simple like that (and something to get me out of work! lol)...

The eye doctor flashed the light in my eye- it watered so bad!- and said "Oh dear! Let me look again..." That didn't sound good. He told me that I have an ulcer in my eye. That means that bacteria permeated through my cornea. Had I waited any longer to see an eye doctor it could have caused permanant blindness in my periphral vision. I have antibiotic eye drops that I have to put in my eye every 2 hours and an anti inflamatory every 4 hours. I'm hoping to not be quite so miserable in 24 hours or so. A follow up appointment tomorrow and Saturday. UGH!

The great thing about going to WalMart for this is, I only paid a one time office visit fee of $29 and my follow up care is included. My prescriptions only cost me $12. This is my YAY Tricare moment because they would have cost me $94 without insurance.

I still have to go to work tomorrow since my eye junk isn't contagious. But I'm going to try to avoid light. It hurts soooooo bad!!!

I need prayers for quick healing!!! I'm miserable. Thanks ladies!

Oh no! I'm glad you found out what it was before it got worse. Sending healing thoughts your way. In the mean time, you can walk around looking all cool in shades even while you're indoors. ^_^

  8. Thanks girls! It still hurts this morning, but it wasn't caked shut for the first time all week! I've only put the antibiotics in 3 times... I'm hoping for good news at my follow up today!
